Yearbook Development - Covers

This is the development for the yearbook proposal brief with the design team of Paul Brandeth and Sam Wallbank. For the concept we wanted to show that all of us in the year are professional graphic designers who are ready to go into a professional design industry. We wanted to do this with a clean and simple look, focussing on making the designer's work speak for itself.

For the colour we picked an appropriate green of C - 88, M - 24, Y - 100, K - 10. This colour has not been used in previous editions of the yearbook and is fairly neutral in terms of connotations of colour.

To show the professional design practice within each designer, we wanted to take profile photographs that showed the designers working in their own kind of design environment (e.g, digital based designers working on macs, illustrators drawing etc), making each designer immediately recognisable for their skills as a professional.

I started by coming up with different cover designs that could remain simple and bold. The idea behind these is that the cover stock can be high quality with a finish, giving it some more texture and relating to high end graphic design print processes.
