ZFF - logo development

I have been concentrating really hard on trying to come up with some way to link the film festival and the 1950's style narrative without being too obvious and have been coming up with no solutions that make sense. Today I realised that that was because I am overcomplicating the whole thing.
There is no reason to change the name from Leeds Zombei Film Festival, the name is fine.
Just keep it the same and design around it.
The purpose of this whle thing is to communicate and promote, so why make it harder than it has to be.

With this in mind, i started looking at the cividl defense logo an=gain and developing it a bit more into a festival logo.

After trying out a few variations, i think I am going to stick with this design:
